Accessibility Statement

At the Hotel Sheraton, we aim to offer high levels of hospitality to all our guests, regardless of any permanent or temporary disability, medical condition, or other specific requirements.
This Access Statement is designed to give you the information you need to assess how effectively we can meet your needs.

PRIOR TO ARRIVAL

The hotel is located approximately 1.5 miles from Blackpool North railway station. The walk is level from the railway station is level and steady down the promenade and would take around 20-25 minutes. Directions to the hotel can be found on the website or your reservation confirmation. If you require a taxi there is a taxi rank at the entrance to the railway station, otherwise we would recommend C Cabs, which can be pre booked on 01253 292929.

ARRIVAL

The car park is located along the north side of the hotel. Car parking is available at the front of the hotel, however, isn’t owned by Hotel Sheraton, so cannot be reserved. Access to the main entrance of the hotel is by three steps or a wide, non-slip ramp with a handrail at the left-hand side of the entrance steps. Assistance with luggage is available, and this can be collected from/delivered to your car if required. The reception desk is to the right inside the double doors of the main entrance. The reception floor is carpeted and on one level. If you require help in an emergency situation, a PEEP (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan) will be completed with you on Check-In.

PUBLIC AREAS

The lounges and restaurant are on one level. The main corridors are well-lit and carpeted. The restaurant is carpeted and has a large wooden dance floor; as is the cabaret/function room. The Seymour bar area is level, wooden flooring. Doorways are wheelchair accessible and seating arrangements can be altered to suit requirements. Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s toilets are both located on the ground floor to the right of the lounge bar and have tiled floors, an accessible toilet is available in the Ladies’ toilet. The hotel does not have a hearing loop installed.

A patio seating area is at the front of the hotel and can be accessed by level ground from the public pathway. There is also access via 1 step at either end of the patio.

The Swimming Pool is on one level and a 6 steps hand-railed ladder allows access into the water which is has a depth of 2 meters. The jacuzzi is accessed by 2 hand-railed steps. Changing rooms are on the same level with low-level lockers available.

The games room is in the basement; accessed via a staircase, so unfortunately isn’t accessible to those in wheelchairs/mobility scooters.

ACCOMMODATION

Bedrooms are on the first, second and third floors and served by one large accessible lift as well as 3 staircases comprising of 3 flights of stairs. The hotel has 5 specifically designed accessible bedrooms, with walk-in wet rooms and widened doorways. All bedrooms vary in terms of shape and size and differ in terms of shower/ bath configurations. Please call us if you have particular requirements about access to rooms. Bedrooms are carpeted and bathrooms are tiled. Nonslip bathmats can be provided on request as can suitable aids for easier use of the bathroom, including toilet seat raisers and frames. Rooms do not have fridges, but we are able to store medication needing refrigeration via the Reception Desk.

GENERAL

All information such as menus, bedroom information, and tariffs can be printed in larger fonts on request. Service dogs are accepted at the hotel by prior arrangement. We have recommended mobility scooter provider, where it is possible to hire a range of specialist equipment which can be collected or delivered directly to the hotel. We can provide details on request.
